Christopher Hull

Percussionist and drummer Christopher Hull holds a Bachelor of Music from Wilfrid Laurier
University, a Master of Music in Percussion Performance from the University of Alaska
Fairbanks, and a certificate from the Darmasiswa Cultural Scholarship program (Bali, Indonesia). He has worked with bands and orchestras across Southern Ontario, the United States, Europe, and Asia.
Until taking over as the Lesson Coordinator at L&M Waterloo, Chris was a private instructor. His passion for music education is put to good use here in the Lesson Centre, and he looks forward to finding a suitable teacher for you or your child.

Alex Showdra (Guitar, Ukulele, Banjo, Voice)

Alex Showdra is a guitarist, banjoist, singer, teacher and songwriter that performs a variety of musical styles and genres. Primarily a guitarist, Showdra performs regularly in Southern Ontario as a soloist, bandleader, and sideman in projects ranging from jazz combos, musicals, rock bands, chamber music, and his own singer-songwriter material. As an alumnus of Wilfrid Laurier University, Showdra has had many opportunities to explore a multitude of musical styles. Being a proactive person, Showdra is always eager to tackle more projects and continue to develop his musical and teaching skills so he can help foster music in his communities. His rate is $26.00 per half an hour lesson.

Amanda Turner - Piano, Theory music lessons in Waterloo

Amanda Turner (Piano, Theory)

Amanda specializes in teaching young beginners. She enjoys preparing students for RCM exams or casual enjoyment. Amanda has completed her Grade 10 RCM 10 piano and continues to study Piano Pedagogy. Ear training and improvisation are introduced from the very first lesson. Her rate is $25 per half-hour lesson.

Chris Woroch - Drums music lessons in Waterloo

Chris Woroch (Drums)

Chris has been teaching drums for 30 years in a variety of settings and locations. He has studied with Gary Tomlin, Jim Blackley, Paul Delong and Ric Gratton. Over the last 50 years Chris has played in numerous musical settings, including radio, television, concerts and clubs, recording and church worship conferences and services. During that time he has worked with some of the premier Canadian musicians such as Bernie LaBarge, Bill Dillon, Kevin Rammessar, Dave Thompson, Mike Janzen and Mark McIntyre. “ My philosophy is simple. I teach people to play drums so that they may experience the challenges and joys of making music with other musicians.”
Chris' rate is $25.00 per half hour.

Daniel Jancar - Saxophone,  Flute, Clarinet music lessons in Waterloo

Daniel Jancar (Saxophone, Flute, Clarinet)

Daniel is a woodwinds instructor and a graduate of the Etobicoke School of the Arts (music major). Dan is a regular performer and has played at many events including the Kitchener Blues Festival. He has recorded with bands like, "Milky Whites" and "The Bluesmen", as well as with his current band, "Fog Blues and Brass Band". Dan also has a background studying with the Royal Conservatory of Music. Dan has studied with multiple saxophonists, flutists and clarinetist privately in the past. Don is a professional percussionist with over 30 years teaching experience. He has a Diploma of Music from Humber College and diverse experience in live performance, having performed all over the world - concerts, tours, clubs, and musicals. He has extensive recording studio experience and has produced or co-produced numerous albums. Don was Assistant Music Director of the Ceremonial Band of the Waterloo Regional Police Service for 6 years. In addition to conducting and performing with both the concert and marching bands, he also ran the drum line, including drills and choreography. He is well regarded for his diversity and skills, his broad perspective of music, and his upbeat, creative, and positive teaching style. Don's rate is $26.00/half-hour private lesson.
