Ben Long - Guitar, Bass, Ukelele music lessons in North Bay

Ben Long (Guitar, Bass, Ukelele)

Ben teaches pop, rock and blues guitar to students of all ages, with a strong theory foundation. He currently performs in a local pop/rock group and is involved in a Northern Ontario Record Label. In addition to teaching for more than 12 years, Ben has a background in recording and engineering, and he is leading our Rock Skool program. His rate is $21 per ½ hour lesson.

Catherine Trenker - Piano, Theory music lessons in North Bay

Catherine Trenker (Piano, Theory)

Catherine has been an instructor for over 25 years in central Ontario and North Bay, specializing in elementary piano pedagogy. She has completed all theory and history certificates at the A.R.C.T. (Associate Diploma in Piano Performance) level for the Royal Conservatory of Music . She is also an affiliate member f of O.R.M.T.A. (Ontario Registered Teacher’s Association). Her rate is $21 per ½ hour lesson.

Daniel Rayney - Guitar, Ukulele, Mandolin music lessons in North Bay

Daniel Rayney (Guitar, Ukulele, Mandolin)

Daniel teaches students of all ages, in multiple genres including Rock, Blues, Country and Classical guitar technique. He is dedicated to each individual student’s musical development and focuses on theory, technique and performance. Daniel studied at Wilfred Laurier University under Terry McKenna in a Bachelor of Music program for guitar performance. He is a highly proficient performer and has been teaching privately for more than 15 years. Daniel’s rate is $21 per ½ hour lesson.

Graham Finlay (Flute, Saxophone, Clarinet)

Graham has an Honours Bachelor of Music Education from Wilfrid Laurier University and teaches for the Near North school board. He performs with 22 Wing Band and the North Bay Symphony. He is a member of the Ontario College of Teachers and has performed with ensembles, festivals and Jazz bands in Ontario and internationally. Graham teaches all ages with an individual approach to lessons. His rate is $21 per ½ hour lesson.

Jason is a Music Performance graduate with a B.A. from Laurentian University and has been teaching since 2010. He has designed a fun, innovative curriculum suitable for all ages. He teaches all genres of music and advanced drum rudiments, including Symphony percussion. Jason is an experienced performer & songwriter, with touring history and 2 albums released. J.C. has completed his Grade 9 RCM for Piano with Grade 3 harmony & history. He has been teaching private piano lessons in Brampton and in North Bay, since 2012. He offers students of all ages an opportunity to explore their love of music with a focus on technique and artistry. He's also a member of the Ontario College of Teachers, specializing in teaching high school math & physics with the Near North District School Board. His rate is $21 per ½ hour lesson.

Jennifer has a Bachelor of Education: Specialist Music Intermediate and Senior Divisions, as well as a Bachelor of Arts (Music Teachable – Voice). She has completed her Grade 8 RCM for Piano. Jennifer is a member of the Ontario College of Teachers. She teaches students of all ages with an individual approach to lessons. With focus on technique and theory, sight reading and ear training, Jennifer will take each student to the next level of their musical journey. Her rate is $24 per ½ hour lesson.

Jordan Wyshniowski - Violin, Cello, Guitar music lessons in North Bay

Jordan Wyshniowski (Violin, Cello, Guitar)

Jordan began his cello training at Cambrian College under the guidance of former NBSO conductor Dr. Metro Kozak. He attended the University of Ottawa music program where he studied with National Arts Centre Orchestra principal cellist Amanda Forsyth and NACO cellist Margaret Munro-Tobolowska. He has done numerous performances in Ottawa both in and outside of the University in addition to teaching stringed instruments, including his first instrument, the guitar. He is the North Bay Symphony principal cellist. Jordan’s rate is $21 per ½ hour lesson.

Merlyn Barrett (Guitar, Ukulele, Bass)

Merlyn has been a guitar teacher since 2008 and has three decades of guitar performance experience. He also has expertise in live sound engineering and he’s been a mentor for students of all ages, learning guitar basics up to advanced technique. Merlyn promotes a hands-on approach to learning with attention to detail and provides organized tasks and assignments for his students to encourage growth and success. His rate is $21 per ½ hour lesson.

Mike Phillips - Violin & Piano music lessons in North Bay

Mike Phillips (Violin & Piano)

Mike brings 35 years of teaching experience to each of his students lessons. Beginning his violin lessons when he was 3, Mike understands his students' needs at all stages of learning, and employs a variety of methods to teach students of all ages. He is an active member of the North Bay Symphony, and has been a performing member of the Sudbury Symphony, and the Peel Musical Theatre Group. Mike has achieved the Violin Grade 8 certificate, and a Piano Grade 6 certificate from the Royal Conservatory of Music. Mike's rate is $21 per ½ hour lesson.

Victoria has completed her Grade 9 RCM for Piano and she’s been teaching since 2010. She engages students of all ages in classical technique as well as a popular repertoire. She has performed in a number of competitions including Kiwanis and Provincial music events. She is a registered teacher with the Royal Conservatory of Music. Her rate is $22 per ½ hour lesson.
