Grace Wiebe

A lifelong student of music herself, Grace is a firm believer in the importance of music education and the value it adds to your life. Alongside her studies in science at McGill University, Grace pursued her interest in cello, voice, and theatre performance, and she continues to seek out community groups to perform with in London. Grace has been working in arts administration roles for over 5 years, and she is thrilled to be able to use her experience to support the talented team of teachers at London South.

Aaron Dimoff (Voice, Piano)

Aaron Dimoff has been singing professionally on operatic stages across the country for the last decade. After receiving his Masters in Vocal Performance degree from UWO, he worked as a resident artist for the Calgary Opera company, performing and training with singers, conductors, and directors from around the world. Aaron has since performed on Canada's biggest stages, from the Edmonton Opera company to the Canadian Opera Company in Toronto. An avid teacher when not performing, Aaron enjoys passing on his experience to everyone from absolute beginners, to musicians pursuing a professional career. His rate is $25.00/half-hour private lesson.

Alex Huggins - Piano, Theory music lessons in London South

Alex Huggins (Piano, Theory)

Alex graduated from Western University with an MA (Musicology), BMus (Theory & Composition), and a BA (Major in Popular Music Studies). He has also completed the ARCT Piano Performance with the Royal Conservatory of Music. Other music-related interests include electronic music production and performance. Alex aims to create a relaxed and enjoyable studio environment, while drawing from years of experience to attain high standards of musical technique and comprehension. With 8 years of teaching experience, Alex hopes to help students of all ages find their voice through music and to gain the knowledge and confidence to achieve their goals. From jazz to jugband, mariachi to metal, Andrew Somerville has performed, studied and taught music in Canada, The U. S. and México. Mr. Somerville studied guitar and bass at Toronto's Humber College, Detroit's Wayne State University and privately in Detroit, Toronto and Mexico City. Andrew’s goal-oriented approach focuses on the student’s abilities and musical tastes. He is equally comfortable teaching beginners of all ages up to the most advanced students of theory and technique. "The way to motivate a student is to give them the means to create the music they love and to show them how to make practice both fun and rewarding." Chris Derrough has been playing trumpet for twelve years and has had experience playing and teaching other brass instruments for five years. He holds a Bachelor of Music in trumpet from Western, where he is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Education. He is also an avid guitar and ukulele player and has been playing both for 7 years, during which time he has taught classes in both. Focusing on musicianship skills and the player's areas of interest, Chris aims to teach students at all playing levels the joy, community, and sense of accomplishment that music can bring to one's life. Emilie Nikota - Violin, Viola, Theory music lessons in London South

Emilie Nikota (Violin, Viola, Theory)

Emilie Nikota has studied the violin for nearly 20 years in London Ontario, and in that time has studied and graduated from the Music programs of St. Mary’s Choir and Orchestra School, Catholic Central Highschool Orchestra Program, and Forest City Talent Education (Orchestra and private study). She primarily focuses on teaching using the Suzuki method, but is happy to support students in studying alternate musical genres as well. She believes that the most important thing is encouraging a love of music that her students can take with them for their entire lives. Her rate is $23.00/half-hour private lessons.

After studying Voice Performance at the University of Toronto, Imogen completed her bachelor degree at Western University (BMus, 2018) in collaboration with Fanshawe’s Music Industry Arts program where she was the recipient of the 2018 Female Vocalist of the Year Award. A proud London local, Imogen continues to perform in theatrical productions, as well as music events and festivals throughout London. In addition to her passion for performing, Imogen is a proud supporter of community arts organizations, having worked with London’s annual Sunfest Festival and London’s Girls’ Rock Camp. Kelly holds a diploma in Music Industry Arts from Fanshawe College and has over 10 years experience working in the independent music communities of Toronto and London. Spending his college years teaching lessons and ‘wood-shedding’ in a variety of music projects, he is enthusiastic about sharing his extensive knowledge and passion for drums with anyone interested in picking up the sticks. Kelly is well-versed in many styles including Rock, Funk and Latin. He places an emphasis on groove, musicality and above all, having fun. His rate is $23.00/half-hour private lesson.

Kelsey Regier is currently pursuing her Bachelor's Degree of Music with Honours in Education at Western University. She has been playing clarinet for nine years, including studying under Marie Johnson and Jana Starling at UWO. Kelsey loves teaching flute, clarinet, saxophone and piano to enthusiastic students of all ages. She currently volunteers in schools, delivers woodwind workshops and staffs at music camps during the summer. Her philosophy has always been to engage her students to be well-rounded and confident performers through a variety of genres and repertoire. Kelsey is excited to share her love of music with all her students and help them to develop their unique musicianship! Her rate is $24.00/per half-hour private lesson.

Mark Hamon - Drums music lessons in London South

Mark Hamon has dedicated his musical life to playing and teaching the drums for over 40 years. From dance bands, theater, TV shows, commercials, CBC studio recording, film music (NFB), hundreds of bands of all sizes and styles, and yes, even a successful clown band, Mark has been involved with playing drums in all styles and venues. Mark has also published numerous articles on the history of percussion instruments. In 1995, his book, New Directions Around the Drums, was published by Hal Leonard Publications and is still selling world-wide. Mark’s drum lessons are designed to maximize each student’s abilities and potential in rock, jazz, latin and rudimental styles. His rate is $24.00/half-hour private lesson.

As an active freelance violinist, Sarah Wiebe has performed extensively with orchestras across Canada, from Victoria to Windsor, and is a core member of London Symphonia. She has recorded on Juno-nominated CDs with both the National Youth Orchestra and the children’s group, Splash’N Boots. When not performing, she is an active teacher, with over 15 years of experience teaching violin and piano to a wide range of students. Sarah holds a Bachelor of Music in violin performance from Western University as well as an ARCT in piano performance. Her rate is $25.00/half-hour private lesson.
