I AM THE WORLDS GREATEST DRUMMER! 3 of 4 customers found this review helpful

EAD10 PACKS A PUNCH! 2 of 2 customers found this review helpful

Firstly, I purchased this unit in July of 2020 and have put many hours a week on my acoustic yamaha live custom kit with this unit serving as my main practice and recording device. I'm a typical youtube cover/ basement drummer that enjoys prepping and playing covers. I also record some demos for other projects that I work on sporadically. Besides using the EAD10 for youtube drum covers, I also use it to allow for my guitarist to monitor the kit as a whole by sending it into a behringer mixer so that he can receive a somewhat accurate stereo mix of my kit.
I will start with the main drawbacks that I see lacking or missing: (why I gave a 4 for features)
1. While there is a 1/4" mono (Left and Right out) that can send the stereo mix to a board etc, it would be nice if the unit came with a XLR out. My reasoning for this lies simply with the fact that finding adapter that go from 1/4" trs to XLR seem to be hard to find, and I more often that not am using XLR cables at home to send signals. The Left and Right Out at the back of the unit seems cumbersome to have to use all these different connections just to get to XLR on my mixer. Many new guitar cabs and boards that are Solid State such as Line brand or Kemper branded products allow you to send a balanced XLR output from the unit to a board. You get my point. If there's a way to rectify this issue thats already out there or built into the unit... Well then I'm and idiot lol.
2. Not a pitfall, but more of a reminder for potential buyers. This unit produces a stereo signal of your entire kit. While you can add on individual triggers to the unit and play around with pre programmed sounds for each additional trigger, just remember that with the stereo sound there are limitations to quality of sound coming from each piece of equipment on your kit. This isn't an Audix Mic Pack running into a Focusrite Scarlett 18i8 mixed in logic pro... Play around with the unit, develop your own sounds and store them as scenes! There are lots of possibilities for every style of drumming.
Now for the features that really stand out in my opinion.
1. Ease of recording: By purchasing from amazon a "6-foot-long (1.8 meters) high-speed multi-shielded USB 2.0 A-Male to B-Male cable" you're able to record to your tracks straight to your DAW in your computer. I use a macbook pro with garageband. Nice and simple.
2. Monitoring your drums: by plugging your IEM's into your unit directly you get a great monitoring tool to help you hear the entire kit clearly for practice. This feature also allows you to individually monitor external tracks or songs with independent volume control.
3. Built in metronome: Use it, its handy and will improve your playing.
4. Bass drum sounds for rock and metal players: This took some time but I've dialed it in. Using a wood or plastic style beater versus a felt beater will provide a thicker, cutting attack. This method complemented with a gibraltar click pad will produce a very impressive and Vinnie Paul'esque kick sound. Enjoy.
5. Finally, general fun!
The 700 bucks I spent on the EAD10 was well worth it. It has opened up my ability, allowed me to try new things and just generally have more fun playing now. That's why we drum right, cause it's suppose to be fun!
Overall, buy it and have some fun. You won't regret it!
EAD10 Every Drummer must have this magical machine 6 of 6 customers found this review helpful

This thing is absolutely addictive.
The EAD10 is everything I hoped it would be and more.
For practice, for stage, for collaborating with your friends there is just nothing like it. Once the trigger(s) are fitted properly the signal is strong rich and clean and can be completely re-sculpted in what seems like endless combinations. Shout out to Zach and Alex who go way out of their way to make sure you get the right products and premier service.

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty
A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.
Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.
How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
- Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
- Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
- No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
- Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
- Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
- Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
- Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
- Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
- Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.
Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.
Purchasing additional years of coverage
Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.
If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:
- NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
- USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
- GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
- BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
