I really like my MTi2! I compared this to a Faderport 16, using them both (separately) and I found that with the MTi2 it’s a very fast process to edit and mix.. see a pan knob on channel 9 you touch the button and you change the pan.. on a fader/controller like the Faderport 16 you see what you change on the screen and then you have to take your eyes off the screen and locate the channel 9, then select it, and then turn the pan knob. The Faderport takes more steps... you have to locate the control rather than simply touching the control that you’re already probably looking at..

Steven Slate sure makes this look snappy and fun in the demonstration videos, but boy, is the real-world experience quite different. After days and weeks of tweaking, I could never the Slate control overlay to sync up properly with Pro Tools or Cubase (each involve realigning and manually loading up separate profiles) to get any kind of useful functionality out of this. Overall, I'd say it's more of a gimmick than a studio tool that will speed up or improve your workflow. Stay away.
