This newly designed drum key offers both fine and fast tuning and is shaped and rounded to perfectly fit your fingers. A knurled knob at the end of the key allows you to quickly spin the TDK10 during the initial tension rod tightening for rapid head changes.

The Tama drum key can be properly mounted in a cordless drill (any drill would work, but practical size, torque and speed in mind). This is only effective if the drill is equipped a key-less chuck, or you have a second drum key on hand. The benefit is more apparent when replacing two or more heads at one time, let alone a whole kit top and bottom. If your removing the tension rods, start loosening all of them with the drum key in hand till the whole head is lose, then remove the rods with the drill. If your replacing tension rods, start threading by hand, use the drill to tighten but stop before the the skin becomes tight. (never tighten or loosen the head with the drum key in drill)
