My Shure reference cans were getting kind of ragged but still working, so I wanted a set to take some of the workload. I haven't used my Shures since I got the HD7s. I wouldn't call them reference headphones, but for my internet radio and voice-over work they are absolutely perfect. Great response (maybe a bit strong in the midrange) great bass and clear highs. Light and comfortable. I have larger ears and this is one of the few headphones that fit completely over them. The only thing missing is a detachable curly cable. Absolutely great value.

I've had a set of these since I first started doing audio production, I originally bought them because the price was right for getting started. These things have been through the trenches, and I still keep them on hand for use in the vocal booth, or for sharing a demo across the room (The cord is ridiculously long) IF they ever end up failing I'll buy another pair to have on hand just for the ridiculous versatility and surprising sound quality.

How these are relatively unknown, unadvertised, and only $58 is beyond me. I pretty much guarantee you've paid more for headphones that are no better than these. Of course, they won't sound like $300 headphones, but they absolutely do not sound like $58 headphones. They're rugged (especially the cushy ear pieces), have a good semi-closed reference, and the response is actually quite balanced; I'm starting to expect this quite a bit from PreSonus, regardless of their price tags.
