At first I bought it to cut the typical noise coming from single coil Fender bass thinking as a simple gate acting like a switch. But it reveal an interesting effect on the tone of the instrument, the gate is progressive and it is a kind of dynamic frequency window opening with the signal, so if you play soft it act as you roll off the tone control on the instrument and roll up with full signal. It worth to try it, I love it for bass.

Short of just using my volume control this is the BEST noise reducer I've ever owned. If you watch the demo video on their website it is spot on. BUY IT!!
