I purchase this snare since I thought the price was good for an entry level snare. At first look the finnish was nice and is looked sturdy. The sound is good I changed the drumheads since the one from the factory was not making the snare sound that good, I installed Remo's Ambassador and Snare side and the snare was sounding really good afterwards. I recommend it at this price its a sure value.

I am happy with this snare for under 200 dollars. I would recommend it for beginners but not a drummer who is looking to replace their snare. The only reason I got this was so that I can have an extra snare to play always turned off and it was the cheapest one I could find at the time. When I tune it up properly and leave the snare off I get that Sepultura sound I was looking for. When recording spending a bit extra on a different snare drum will make all the difference in the world. Turned on this just didn't cut it for me and gave off a cheap sound. I never play it turned on so that doesn't matter to me. It's decent but like I said there are better options.

The throw is a bit cheap and doesn't completely turn the snares "off" but all is forgiven with the pop and tone this snare has. I have some semi-expensive snares and this one is still one of my faves for its pop and "just right' ring.

At $99 this is a great sounding snare. You'll need moongels to kill the overtones. But has nice pop.
