The Little Martin is big on tone, quality, and versatility and includes sustainable wood parts. New to the series, the LX1RE features a solid Sitka spruce top, for warmth and projection, paired with stylish rosewood pattern HPL. As the first model in its series with a pickguard, it includes a laser-etched herringbone rosette and comes with a soft gig bag for easy transport so you can take your music anywhere. The Little Martin is ideal for travel but also makes a great student guitar. The LX1RE comes equipped with Fishman Sonitone electronics.

I bought this guitar to kick around on my sailboat since it was reported to be quite tough. I was not expecting it to sounds as good as it does or play so well. It has the same neck profile as my HD-28 but is much easier to handle if I just want to grab something to knock off a couple of licks. The salesman at L&M was very helpful although he was trying to steer me toward a Taylor I am glad I stuck with my first choice. If I play it through my Fender Champ with a low gain and volume you can really hear the low resonance and high harmonics just like my dreadnought which I have grown to love about Martin guitars. Overall I am very happy with the quality and design of this guitar
