I shifted to short-scale eight years ago after playing a '59 Precision, on and off, for 50 plus years, I had an Epiphone Viola for a couple years, an Epi EB 0, Squier Jag Vintage Modified, and finally this Gretsch. And this will be my last bass. It's super comfortable to play, not heavy, sounds great for the stuff I do (blues, country), the PUs are bright and the LaBella flats I've put on help with the bottom. I'm playing through a 2x10 Markbass cab, with a Traynor miniblock head, plenty for the venues i play and easy on the back (I'm old.) The neck is thin and it's got a 1.56" nut, so easy to play.

This IS an amazing guitar and one heck of a bargain
I returned to playing afer a 20 year hiatus
This guitar is comfortable, has amazing tone and looks great
Fit and finish much higher than a $400 guitar might suggest
I play through a Fender Rumble 100
