The S&P Songsmith delivers incredible value, impeccable craftsmanship and a sound that will inspire players and fledgling songwriters to get that tune inside of their heads out to the masses.

The Songsmiths feature wild cherry back and sides along with Select Pressure Tested tops delivering a very responsive and well balanced sound. The procedure of pressure testing each top insures that only the best quality tops will be chosen for their high level of stiffness and rigidity, which translates to an optimal level of harmonic vibration in the top. The comfortable necks on the Songsmiths are made from silver leaf maple and feature the new Integrated Set neck system, which adds increased stability through varying changes in climate

Proudly made in Canada.

I first started playing guitar in the spring of 2018 and on an impulse, bought a $150 guitar. Was great for a beginner like me and it taught me the ropes. However, as I got more advanced, I noticed the guitar I had was seriously lacking. I swung by L&M and the folks there helped me find this guitar. I absolutely love it. It's so smooth and easy to play. It's so well balanced and really enriched my guitar playing experience. While I'm appreciative of my first guitar, this is the guitar that really elevated my playing to the next level!

I was looking for a smaller instrument to help me get to grips better with some fundamentals. This turned up in my research and turned out to be exactly what I was looking for. It is a joy to play and helps build confidence with its ease of 'handling'. I imagine this instrument will provide me with much enjoyment for many years to come. The good: the sound. This instrument just rings out with a beautiful tone, although it does have less volume than my old dreadnought. I dare say the neighbours appreciate that. The bad: the look. I'm not a big fan of the bourbon sunburst look personally, but I'm not looking at it when I'm playing so all good.

This thing will totally hook you. Get one, put it on a stand, put the stand in the highest traffic room of the house. You will pick it up every time you pass by. I don't care what kind of music you play, this thing will make you a better guitarist...because you're hours per week will skyrocket. Huge value, huge quality, huge addiction, all in a little sweetheart of a 12fret blues box. Just buy it.

Passed by this guitar weeks before buying it while the salesman was talking it up as I was looking at high end Dreadnaughts. Did some research on Parlour guitars later but could find no reviews on this exact model. Decided to go back weeks later and try it and was sold after 10 mins. Oiled the fretboard and put a new set of medium Elixir Phosphorous Bronze Nanoweb on and wow! This guitar sounds amazing for the price point and the quality is awesome as with all S&P products. I’ve owned a Songsmith dreadnought model since 2009 and absolutely love it so this little guy had big shoes to fill and came through in spades. I'm a dreadnaught guy and was looking for something a little smaller maybe for camping but thought I’d have to sacrifice tone and overall sound & boy was I wrong. It’s obviously not as loud as a dreadnought or boomy but it’s warm and crisp and soft all in one package. I also own a Gibson Hummingbird so I’m aware of what a high end guitar sounds like. S&P sell medium to high end guitars for a steal and I can’t say enough about them. Apparently I purchased the only one in Alberta at the time so if your reading this and want one hopefully it doesn’t take to long to get one in. This guitar is so addictive to play, hours will fly by as your strumming or fingerpicking it.
