Mike Schroth - Coordinator

Music has been a part of Mike Schroth’s life since a young age, when he began taking private lessons on a variety of different instruments. He plays piano, guitar and drums, among others. Mike is active in the local music community in both his solo projects and full band projects, such as drumming for Space Pope, Twin City Alpine Echo, and Ed Force One, Kitchener's Iron Maiden Tribute band. He is a huge advocate for music lessons in the Kitchener-Waterloo area. Mike believes it is extremely important for music education to be accessible to people of all ages, levels and styles.

Alex Showdra (Guitar, Ukulele, Banjo, Voice)

Alex Showdra is a guitarist, banjoist, singer, teacher and songwriter that performs a variety of musical styles and genres. Primarily a guitarist, Showdra performs regularly in Southern Ontario as a soloist, bandleader, and sideman in projects ranging from jazz combos, musicals, rock bands, chamber music, and his own singer-songwriter material. As an alumnus of Wilfrid Laurier University, Showdra has had many opportunities to explore a multitude of musical styles. Being a proactive person, Showdra is always eager to tackle more projects and continue to develop his musical and teaching skills so he can help foster music in his communities. His rate is $25 per half an hour lesson.

Chris Woroch - Drums music lessons in Waterloo

Chris Woroch (Drums)

Chris has been teaching and performing drums since 1974. He recorded and performed with the children's artist Ronno. He conducted workshops on drumming and performed with the gospel artist Bob Fitts. He enjoys sharing his expertise with students of all ages. Chris' rate is $24.00/half-hour private lesson.

Daniel is a woodwinds instructor and a graduate of the Etobicoke School of the Arts (music major). Dan is a regular performer and has played at many events including the Kitchener Blues Festival. He has recorded with bands like, "Milky Whites" and "The Bluesmen", as well as with his current band, "Fog Blues and Brass Band". Dan also has a background studying with the Royal Conservatory of Music. Dan has studied with multiple saxophonists, flutists and clarinetist privately in the past. Don is a professional percussionist with over 30 years teaching experience. He has a Diploma of Music from Humber College and diverse experience in live performance, having performed all over the world - concerts, tours, clubs, and musicals. He has extensive recording studio experience and has produced or co-produced numerous albums. Don was Assistant Music Director of the Ceremonial Band of the Waterloo Regional Police Service for 6 years. In addition to conducting and performing with both the concert and marching bands, he also ran the drum line, including drills and choreography.
