Private Lessons

We offer a half hour or hour, weekly, private session in our studios. We have lessons available for all ages, styles, most instruments, and all levels of musicians. While we are enacting social distancing, many of our teachers are offering online video lessons. Please call, text, or email for more details. We are operating on reduced hours and will not be allowing customers into the lessons centre or store until further notice but emails, calls, and texts are being monitored daily and office staff are happy to answer any questions you may have or set you up with an online teacher.

Andrew Barbisan (Guitar)

Andrew attended the Mohawk College Jazz Studies program and performs and records with multiple bands. Andrew has also studied stringed instrument design and building for the past few years, most recently attending the Sergei de Jonge guitar building course in Quebec.

Braden Varcoe is a graduate of the Mohawk College Applied Music program. He has been teaching guitar and theory to students of all ages and skill levels since 2013. Braden has been heavily involved with the theater community in Hamilton as well, including working in such capacities as Music Director for the original Broadway cast of Smokey Joe's Cafe at Hamilton Place. Buddy is a graduate of the Berklee College of Music. He has played with the Berklee & MIT Symphonic Orchestras, as a guest artist with Dizzy Gillespie, as well as many others. Buddy is a studio musician, recording radio/T.V. commercials and works with production companies and artists as a writer. He has lead various jazz groups for 4 decades and produced 4 albums of his own. Buddy has prepared many students for acceptance into various music programs at universities and colleges.

Christien Ledroit (Online Lessons Available - Violin, Guitar, Bass, Composition)

Christien obtained his Honours Bachelor of Music degree from Queen’s University, where he studied violin. He has also earned a Master’s degree in Composition from McGill University. Christien enjoys teaching all styles of music, from Royal Conservatory curriculum to more contemporary genres. He is also an accomplished composer, having one of his original pieces published in the Royal Conservatory's ARCT syllabus in 2013. He currently plays in the 1st violin section with Sinfonia Ancaster, and is the guitarist in the Hamilton/Burlington-based rock band The Castor Troys.
