Adam has been playing contemporary piano and keyboard since 1992 and has used his musical knowledge to form Undertone Studio, a recording studio and music production company. From chord structures to sound design, Adam is well versed in many of today's popular musical styles. His rate for a half hour lesson is $20.

Alex is a seasoned guitar, banjo and bass player who has been playing for 17 years and teaching for 4. He is well versed in many musical styles, including blues, bluegrass, country, rock, pop, and jazz. Alex is a passionate and dedicated teacher who has experience working with students of all ages and skill levels. He can provide guidance on understanding musical notation, simple chord shapes, or more advanced rhythms and leads. Alex is happy to help students grow and learn, no matter their musical background.

Alexandra Pires Duro - Viola, Violin music lessons in Saint John

Alexandra Pires Duro (Viola, Violin)

Alendra Pires Duro grew up Braga, Portugal where she started her studies in violin with Sara Machado. During the conservatory years, she was invited to play with Orquesta De Minh and played in the ensemble Compass Quat, with whom she participated in several major musical projects and performed in the biggest concert houses of Portugal, such as Casa da Musica and CCB. After graduating, Alexandra moved to Lisbon after a successful audition for the university Escobar Superior DE Musica. Here, she completed her Bachelor'so Degree in Music Performance on the violin, with world known teachers like Gare Guin Aroutiounian, Ana Beatriz Manzanillo and Bin Chao. After that, she completed her Masters in Music Education, while working as a violin teacher. During her Masters, she conducted a study about parent involvement in music education all around the country, which received the maximum evaluation from her prestigious superiors.

While working as a student in Camerates, she was playing in different ensembles and orchestras, while performing in multiple countries, and also volunteered in social programs and other several community programs in Portugal and Ireland. Motivated by all of her work, travels and experience, she moved to Canada by herself to work with El Sistema. Her rate per half hour lesson is $21.

Bev Tims - Piano music lessons in Saint John

Bev, a classically trained pianist and organist, holds a BEd Degree from UNB and taught piano and directed a church youth choir in Fredericton. She was Music Director for a non-profit preschool program and has over 20 years of experience working with young children. In 2010, Bev returned to teaching piano and created the Music For Me preschool music program. She is a registered piano teacher with the Royal Conservatory of Music and teaches all ages, from beginners to the more experienced student. Bev has completed the MUSIC TOGETHER teacher training as well as the Elementary Piano Teacher Course from the Royal Conservatory of Music. Her rate for a half hour lesson is $21

Dalia Garcia - Viola and Violin music lessons in Saint John

Dalia Garcia (Viola and Violin)

Dalia Garcia is a viola/violin teacher from Venezuela who studied at the world renowned music program, El Sistema. Dalia got her music degree in Music Education from the Institute of Music Arts Simon Bolivar in Caracas, Venezuela. In 1989, Ms. Garcia auditioned for the viola section of the Simon Bolivar Symphony Orchestra, the top touring orchestra of El Sistema, performing with them till 1996. In 1996 Dalia moved to the U.S. to study at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where she got her Masters degree in viola performance. Moving to East Landing, Michigan in 2002, Dalia would teach at Michigan State University Community Music School until 2009, when she moved back to teach viola/violin with El Sisters.

Ms. García has many years experience teaching students of all ages and has taught Suzuki, traditional and Sistema methods for many years. She has had the opportunity to teach in different countries, including Venezuela, Columbia, United States and currently Canada. Currently, Ms, Garcia is a viola teaching artist with Sistema New Brunswick in Saint John. Her rate per half hour lesson is $21

Emily Shute - Piano and voice music lessons in Saint John

Emily Shute (Piano and voice)

Emily Shute, an RCM Grade 9 classical pianist and voice teacher from Halifax has been teaching for over a decade. Since graduating from Dalhousie University in 2005, Emily has been teaching classical piano and music theatre privately. Her teaching style balances technique and performance ensuring her students are skilled and expressive whether they are learning RCM curriculum or pop songs. As well as teaching, Emily has worked as an accompanist (Halifax Dance, Ross Creek Centre For The Arts, Kiwanis Music Festival), performer (IDOW Festival, Grafton Street Dinner Theatre, Two Planks and a Passion), and composer - She released her debut album, "Jump With Me", in 2015 emilyshute.bandcamp.Com. Emily has recently moved to Saint John after spending a year in South Korea teaching musical theatre. Jonathan Kipping - Drums and Percussion music lessons in Saint John

Jonathan Kipping (Drums and Percussion)

Jonathan performs and gives lessons mainly in Rock, Jazz, & Musical Theatre styles. He also gives clinics, educational drum circles and workshops (e.g. Long & McQuade, KVHS, SJB-King Edward School, The ONE Change, & The Boys and Girls Club), and accompanies dancers in Ballet, Modern, African and Scottish styles. Jonathan hopes to instill in drummers of all ages the many joys of drumming, on the drum set—and beyond! Jonathan developed his unique but tried-and-true approach through Orchestral experience (mainly on Timpani), African drumming (on djembe & dunun) and completion of an Interdisciplinary Studies degree at Montreal’s Concordia University (in Jazz Drumming and Electro-Acoustic Music Composition). After further university study, performing and giving lessons in Nova Scotia and British Columbia, Jonathan returned to Saint John in 2002, newly dedicated to educating, performing, and ongoing learning… eventually through ABDA_Drumming – an initiative to help expand drum and percussion activities, awareness, education and performances in the Saint John area. If you are looking for an experienced and dedicated educator for you or your child, and a locally-orientated performer who can organize a drumming or full-band event tailored to your needs, please consider Jonathan Kipping. Nick Gay (Guitar, Banjo, Mandolin, and Ukulele)

Nick, a multi-instrumentalist from Saint John started playing the drums at 8 years old, eventually picking up the guitar and learning finger style and classical. At the age of 14 he landed his first gig and by 19 was playing gigs all across New Brunswick as well as teaching full time. In 2013 he met, was mentored, and managed by CCMA award winning guitarist and co-founder of Tom Cochrane & Red Rider, Kenny Greer. In 2014, Nick recorded and Tom Cochranes' new album "Take it Home" and the following year set out on a Canadian wide tour with them. Nick teaches a variety of styles, including blues, rock, pop, jazz, funk, classical, and alternative. His rate for a half hour lesson is $21.

Sam received a Bachelor of Arts in Music with a Jazz focus from St. Francis Xavier University. While at St. F. X. Sam developed a strong interest in composition /arranging and enjoyed writing many diverse styles of music. He also began to take an interest in singing while studying an "Intro to Voice" course with notable jazz vocalist Jeri Brown. Sam has performed with many bands including extensive work with Hot Fuss, Sidekick, the Steve Waylon Band, Big Medicine and Saint John Idol. He has enjoyed years of performing with many local bands as well as award winning Canadian Recording Artists: Chris Cummings, Julian Austin and Joan Kennedy. He's been fortunate to travel as far as Switzerland on occasion to perform with NB Country Artist Steve Waylon. His rate for a half hour lesson is $21

Sebastian is an indie singer-songwriter, drawing from an eclectic range of influences: blues, jazz, old r&b, soul, country rock.. and more. He studied guitar in Toronto with David Occhipinti, Ted Quinlan and Geoff Young and music composition at Concordia University in Montreal. Serenna Chapmam - Violin music lessons in Saint John

Serenna Chapmam (Violin)

Serenna, a Grade 7 RCM certified violinist, has been playing violin since she was eleven years old, after starting her musical education on piano at age six. Serenna studied violin under the direction of Robert McCausland for seven years and performed as a member of the New Brunswick Youth Orchestra between 2008-2011, at which time they toured Austria and Germany. Following High School, Serenna completed an internship with Sistema, which included observing, assisting, and teaching violin students. Having found a passion wity music, Serenna continued her music education in Kansas City while taking University level performance courses in violin, theory and composition.
Having recently moved back to Saint John, Serenna has immersed herself in the local music community, including playing with newly formed indie rock band "The Backstays." Excited to be teaching here at Long & Mcquade, Serenna enjoys teaching styles ranging from classical to contemporary. Her rate per half hour lesson is $21.

Stephen Alexander - Piano, Voice, Guitar and Flute music lessons in Saint John

Stephen Alexander (Piano, Voice, Guitar and Flute)

Stephen is a graduate of l'University de Moncton with a Bachelor of Arts in Music and a Colleague's diploma from the Royal Canadian College of Organist, while also serving as in the Canadian Armed Forces Reserves as a Concert and Marching Band Officer. Stephen has over 30 years of experience in musical education, having worked extensively as an organist, conductor, and private music teacher in piano, voicr, flute, and guitar. Currently, Stephen is the Director of music Ministry at St. Mary and St. Bartholomew's Anglican church.

Stephen is well versed in the teaching methods and lesson curriculum of both Mount Allison and Royal Conservatory and is a registered teacher with the Royal Conservatory of Music. Tonella is an award nominated artist (ECMA’s, Hamilton Indie Music Awards), international performer, song writer, audio engineer, and music teacher with over 13 years of experience. After receiving her degree, she performed internationally and has helped a wide variety of students reach their personal musical goals. As well as teaching beginner students, Tonella has also prepared students for national competitions (The Next Star, Canadian Idol, Cirque Du Soleil) and prepped artists for touring and studio preparation (Modified, Sydney Delong, Seaway, Jaclyn Reinhart). After graduating in 2007, Tonella spent 2 years in Toronto where she worked as an audio engineer and live audio technician with companies such as Metal Works,Ashen White, and CSR, as well as teaching voice, piano and guitar at a local music school. After being offered a job in the Maritimes of Canada, Tonella was the Studio Manager and Lead Instructor in the Audio Engineering department at theCentre For Arts And Technology for 2 years, and started her own teaching school called ‘La Tone Productions‘.
After releasing her first album, she joined the musical act ‘Beloved Foe’ from Sweden and traveled to Europe where she recorded the album ‘Crash Therapy‘.
