Dave Ballard - Piano music lessons in Surrey

Dave Ballard (Piano)

Dave has a BA. in Music from UBC and a Diploma in Performing Arts in Music from Douglas College. He is a multi-instrumentalist and composer and enjoys teaching both classical and popular music. His rate is $24 per half hour.

Emmett Wilson (Piano, Theory, Composition)

Emmett graduated from Simon Fraser University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts with Distinction, majoring in music. He specializes in teaching classical and contemporary piano as well as composition and theory. His rate is $24 per half hour.

Justin is a drummer and composer who has studied and taught rock, jazz, funk and improvised/experimental drumming since 2008. He studied at the Vancouver Community College and is one of Vancouver's most active drummers, He has recorded and performed rock, jazz and Indonesian music locally and internationally and his rate for a half hour lesson is $24.

Justin Gorrie is a saxophonist, guitarist, and bassist who performs in a variety of musical styles. His studied at the VCC School of Music and took private lessons with top Canadian musicians. Karen is enrolled in her fourth and final year at Capilano University, where she is working towards a Bachelor of Music with a concentration in Jazz Voice. Karen has been teaching piano and voice since 2015 in a wide variety of styles, and with a focus on fostering a safe and creative environment for students to explore their passion for music. Lance has been a professional musician since 1988. He has years of lessons and playing in the surrounding music scenes under his belt. Lance played for Trooper and Nick Gilder, as well as doing session work for a number of other artists and shares his experience and technical expertise with his students in a fun and energetic manner. Lee Nichols - Guitar, Bass music lessons in Surrey

Lee Nichols (Guitar, Bass)

Lee trained at the Royal Conservatory. He has been teaching music since 2008, beginning at Music Centre Canada in Calgary, through to Long and McQuade Surrey where on top of teaching individual students, he taught a number of group "rock band" classes. After a long tenure at Surrey, Lee then taught a variety of instruments at Beaches Conservatory and allegro music in Toronto before deciding to move back to the West Coast. Also an accomplished performer, Lee has played with artists varying from country artist Patrick Masse, to the blues band The British Columbians, to pop artists Stef Lang, Shawn Hook, Tyler Shaw and others. He plays ukulele, lap steel, bass, and mandolin as well as guitar and his rate is $24 per half hour.

Max has been drumming professionally since 2011 and has a degree in jazz and contemporary performance from Vancouver Community College. He is knowledgeable and proficient in rock, jazz, metal, Latin, afro-cuban, pop, hip-hop, reggae, electronica, and has played at The Horseshoe in Toronto and at Vancouver's Armoury Studios. Noelle Burch - Voice, Piano music lessons in Surrey

Noelle Burch (Voice, Piano)

Noelle started training in classical music and folk music at the age of 10, competing in festivals and performing in showcases and choral performances. Making her way through the genres of jazz, musical theatre, and opera eventually led Noelle to enroll at the Canadian College of performing arts for professional training. She performs regularly with her band 10 Miles West at bars and events around the lower mainland. As a working performer, Noelle understands taking care of your voice and has made that a huge part of her teaching. This includes proper breath technique, the importance of warm ups and cools downs as well as using your whole body to support your voice. She also believes that performance is a huge part of singing, so not only do her students receive instruction in technique, pitch and tone, but delivery, enunciation, and posture. Her rate is $24 per half hour.

Richard Brown - Drums music lessons in Surrey

Richard has over 20 years of experience playing live on-stage and in studio, with artists such as Wanting Qu, Big Sugar, Ernest Ranglin, Pee Wee Ellis, Dehli 2 Dublin, and Warren Dean Flandez, to name a few. He studied drums intensively with Jim Blackley, Paul Bowman, and Michael Lauren at The Drummers Collective NYC. He has a strong background in a variety of genres and drumming styles and has taught in group and private settings with students ranging from 4 years old up to adults. His goal is to have a good rapport with my students and to nurture their relationship to the instrument. Richard's rate is $24 per half hour.

Richard studied violin and viola at the UVIC School of Music with Jaraslav Karlovsky, a former member of the Prague Quartet and Czech Philharmonic Orchestra. He continued his training as a performer and teacher at the Victoria Conservatory of Music where he received his AVCM under the tutelage of Sydney Humphreys. Richard is now happy devoting his energy to teaching his students at Long & McQuade. His rate is $25 per half hour.

At Cap she plays lead trumpet with the A and B bands, and has performed with artists such as Donny McCaslin, Ambrose Akinmusire, and Maria Schneider. Roger Wecker has a music degree from Pepperdine University and was an itinerant band and strings teacher in North Vancouver until his retirement. He has conducted several choral and orchestral community groups including the White Rock Community Orchestra and the Greater Vancouver Operatic Society. As a pianist, Thomas has over two decades of experience ranging from RCM to musical theatre accompaniment and direction to simply gigging with whatever rock band needs a keyboard player. Vocal credits include Fiddler on the Roof (Tevye), City of Angels (Angel City 4 Baritone), 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Mitch Mahoney), Sunday in the Park with George (Boatman), Heathers: The Musical (Ram/Bill Sweeney), American Idiot: The Musical (Theo), and Godspell (Jeffrey), on top of having been in the original Cross Canada Barbershop Chorus and has toured with Saskatchewan Express. He spent two years studying jazz at Capilano University, and during this time he performed with a Static in the Stars who was awarded top 3 in Fox Seeds and played CMW and Indie Fest in Toronto.
