Brandon deGorter - Sax, Piano music lessons in Lethbridge

Brandon deGorter (Sax, Piano)

Brandon is currently studying saxophone performance at the University of Lethbridge. Brandon has traveled internationally with multiple ensembles and has performed with them in Taiwan and Dallas. He is a member of the U of L Wind Orchestra, U of L Jazz Ensemble, U of L Saxophone Quartet, and the B&H Jazz Sextet. He offers lessons exploring a variety of musical styles from classical and contemporary saxophone music to rock, jazz, and pop music. Brandon teaches both saxophone and piano lessons at our Lethbridge store.
His rate is $25 per half hour.

Brenton Taylor - Voice, Piano music lessons in Lethbridge

Brenton Taylor (Voice, Piano)

Born and raised in Southern Alberta, Brenton has been performing as a musician since childhood. From musical theatre to concert band he is experienced in many genres and instruments. After studying Music and Vocal Performance at the University of Lethbridge, Brenton continues to enjoy performing and teaching music lessons in various capacities including trombone, piano and voice. Being classically trained in concert aria, opera, and art song, he also has experience and is trained in jazz, pop, and musical theatre. Brenton is an accomplished performing artist recognized throughout Lethbridge and Southern Alberta and continues to perform today. Brenton offers lessons at our Lethbridge store and his rate is $27 per half hour.

Ellen Ortega - Piano, Theory, Preschool music lessons in Lethbridge

Ellen Ortega (Piano, Theory, Preschool)

Ellen has been teaching piano and theory since 2007. Ellen completed her Bachelor of Music from the University of Lethbridge in the Spring of 2014. She has her Grade 10 piano, and Grade 4 theory from the Royal Conservatory of Music. Ellen has been teaching at Long & McQuade since 2010. Ellen offers lessons at our Lethbridge store and her rate is $27 per half hour.

Jared Browne - Piano, Theory, Composition, Songwriting, Music History music lessons in Lethbridge

Jared Browne (Piano, Theory, Composition, Songwriting, Music History)

Jared offers a high quality of music education in a wide variety of styles and genres including classical, jazz, blues, rock/pop and everything in between. Each lesson is highly personalized to fit the student’s need whether it be for a performance, competition or for personal enjoyment. Jared has over 20 years of teaching and performance experience. He has experience working with children with special needs, and seniors. He was given the ‘”Prestigious Friends of 51” award in June 2013 by Lethbridge School District No. 51 for his volunteer work at Galbraith Elementary School teaching music to special needs/at risk children. Lessons in theory, history, composition/song writing, accompanying, and ear training are also available. Jared offers lessons at our Lethbridge store and his rate is $27 per half hour.

Mwansa Mwansa - Piano, Voice music lessons in Lethbridge

Mwansa Mwansa (Piano, Voice)

Known for her “sultry yet powerful” vocals, Mwansa Mwansa has been actively immersed in the music scene in Southern Alberta. Having studied both classical vocal performance at the University of Lethbridge, as well as jazz/contemporary styles at Grant MacEwan University, Mwansa is verse in various styles of music. As a vocal instructor, Mwansa takes great pleasure in teaching others how to perfect their vocal technique, performance skills, and musicianship. Her admiration and knowledge of diverse musical styles is evident in both her sound and delivery. With her strong background and knowledge of R&B, soul, pop, and jazz styles, Mwansa has successfully taught for over 10 years.

Mwansa has performed numerous times with New West Theatre, including their production of “Bandstand”, “Party On!”, and just recently, “Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story”. She has also been involved in theatre productions at the University of Lethbridge, playing a lead role in “Hair” and vocal directing “The Rocky Horror Picture Show”. Her recent projects include a three month tour of Europe as a co-vocalist for Juno-nominated Samantha Martin and Delta Sugar, as well as a performing with Canada’s own Terra Lightfoot.

Having recently moved back to Lethbridge from Toronto, Mwansa is eager to jump back in to the Lethbridge music scene with her solo project which includes fellow band mates and music teachers Brad Brouwer, Paul Holden, and James Oldenburg. Mwansa offers both piano and voice lessons at our Lethbridge location. Her rate is $27 per half hour.
