Alex Tanasychuk - Saxophone, Clarinet, Theory, Woodwinds music lessons in Edmonton South

Alex Tanasychuk (Saxophone, Clarinet, Theory, Woodwinds)

Alex Tanasychuk has played both guitar and saxophone since 2005. Saxophone ultimately became his passion, which he explored by completing his degree in Jazz Performance at MacEwan University in 2015. Alex has played in countless ensembles and groups along the way, most notably the MacEwan Big Band under Raymond Baril. Alex and some friends formed the jazz quartet "Three Sun Sea" and hit the Edmonton scene. In 2013 they recorded their very first jazz EP "This is not a Question", which was nominated for Jazz Album of the Year at the 2013 Edmonton Music Awards. They played in "Emerging Artists" showcase at the Edmonton Jazz Festival, and embarked on a 6-show Western Canada tour. Nowadays you can find Alex regularly touring Edmonton with rock cover band RadioActive. Alex teaches sax, clarinet, and theory lessons at our Edmonton South location.
His rate is $25 per half hour.

Kanykei Mukhtarova - Piano, Theory music lessons in Edmonton South

Kanykei Mukhtarova (Piano, Theory)

Kanykei is a PhD student in Ethnomusicology at the University of Alberta, Canada.
She is a graduate of the Moscow Conservatoire Musical College (Moscow, Russia) and the Kyrgyz National Conservatory (Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan). Kanykei attended Arts Management program at Indiana University, USA and was an intern at Folkways Records of the Smithsonian Institution. In 2006, Kanykei established the annual international Bishkek Jazz Festival and continues to manage the festival as a director. In 2008, she established the Public Foundation “Central Asian Arts Management”, which facilitates different cultural projects in the Central Asian region. Kanykei teaches piano and theory at our Edmonton South location.
Her rate is $25 per half hour.

Lisa Lau - Piano, Theory music lessons in Edmonton South

Lisa Lau (Piano, Theory)

Lisa has her grade 10 RCM certification and is very active as a teacher in the Edmonton music scene. She has experience teaching students of all ages and specializes in instructing young children and students with disabilities. Lisa teaches piano lessons at our Edmonton South location.
Her rate is $24 per half hour.

Shone Hwang - Piano, Theory music lessons in Edmonton South

Shone Hwang (Piano, Theory)

Shone Hwang has his grade 10 RCM certification and is currently preparing for his ARTC exam in performance. He has explored many genres of music including; classical, jazz, rock, and pop. Shone is always looking for new ways to be involved in the Edmonton music scene and is flexible to teach in English or Korean. Shone offers piano and theory lessons at our Edmonton South location.
His rate is $25 per half hour.

Susan Kay (Piano, Theory)

Susan Kay is a Royal Conservatory of Music Certified Teacher and has been teaching piano and theory since 1995 to students in a wide range of ages, levels and musical genres. She is working towards an Associate Diploma (ARCT) in piano teaching and is currently completing a BA in Music at the University of Alberta. Susan would be happy to help you work towards your musical goals such as exam preparation, beginner classes, returning to piano, or for the enjoyment of learning your favorite pieces. Susan teaches piano and theory at our Edmonton South location.
Her rate is $24 per half hour.

Thomas Mathieu - Piano, Theory music lessons in Edmonton South

Thomas Mathieu (Piano, Theory)

Thomas holds a Performer’s Post Baccalaureate Certificate in Piano from The King’s University. He is an active musician in the Edmonton music scene as a collaborative pianist and accompanist. Thomas has experience teaching both beginning and adult students. He welcomes all ages and music levels. Lessons are always engaging and structured to meet the individual needs and interests of the student. Thomas teaches piano and theory lessons at our Edmonton South location.
His rate is $25 per half hour.
