I like this mic, and it is good value for it's price point but at the end of the day it still doesn't quite feel worth the investment anymore. After hundreds of hours recording with this mic and owning it for nearly 3 years I can say without a doubt that it get's the job done. However, I find it doesn't feel very full, especially in the lower registers and can be quite sibilant and will easily distort with high gain inputs. I probably wouldn't recommend it, but I wouldn't dissuade a first timer from buying it. I feel like you're probably better off saving up and getting a more high end mic unless this really is the max on your budget (as it was for me at the time of purchase)

When it comes to mics this is my go to! I like them as overheads for drums and for vocals. I have a AKG c414 and I would choose this mic over it any day! I just really dig the sound out of this one, kind of has this vintage sound to it.
