The PRO-1 Classic has a Select Cedar top with beautiful 4-layer Black and Ivory binding and features all of the PRO Collection's breakthrough innovations. Epiphone, one of the world's oldest and most respected guitar makers, has just made playing and learning guitar easy for everyone.

Scale length is the distance from the saddle to the nut. The shorter the scale length, the "looser" the strings feel. Because the PRO-1's scale length is almost 1" shorter than most acoustic guitars, the strings are under less tension so you don't have to press hard to get good tone. And - since the frets are closer together-- making chords is easier.

I am a senior who had nerve damage to my left hand and sadly gave up my Godin La Pattrie CW for the narrow nut and smaller size Pro 1. When compared to it's Yamaha counterpart it wins hands down, even has a truss rod. I am sorry that I put heavier strings on it as an experiment and will switch them back, very happy with the pleasantness of the resonance and glad I can still have a guitar on my knee to while some time away. I have played many types of guitar over 60 years and will recommend this as a budget instrument that won't let you down.
