Well after a couple weeks waiting for my new Axe to show up, it finally came on Fri, I must say I'm very happy with this guitar, it looks fabulous, and plays wonderfully, I'm very happy I made this purchase. This guitar sounds great and she is basically flawless, I haven't really seen anything on it yet that looks nothing short of perfect , good Job Epiphone. Very happy Customer

I ordered this into the store and it came boxed up and untouched and the reveal was amazing (insert sounds of angels singing). My first impression upon initially inspecting the guitar were that the build quality was very good and knowing that if anything was really wrong with it I could bring it back, so I quickly paid for it and headed home to give it a tryout. Right away of course it needed to be tuned, but it wasn't too bad. Amping up and running it through the paces I was impressed with the clarity of the 12 string but found the 6 string to be missing the mid-range strings through the amp, but doing a full setup on the guitar at a later time really made a huge difference. My setup included a truss rod adjustment on the 6 string, bridge height for proper string gap, intonation and pickup height adjustments for both necks and pickup pole height adjustments on the 6 string to get those mid-ranges to come through. Now it is playing and sounding much better than it did out of the box. The switches aren't great and will need to be replaced eventually but otherwise I am extremely pleased with it. As I said, build quality is very good, fit and finish are flawless. I bought the red one and the wood grain really shows and looks beautiful. I can't forget to mention that it is so cool to play, especially when you use it for a song that needs both necks to be played properly.

Obviously, the reason for buying this guitar is the utter coolness of the Gibson EDS doubleneck that we all watched Page, Lifeson, Felder, etc... use but not being able to afford the $8000.00 to get one (I am still dreaming of owning the original one day). I got my G1275 with the case for about $1600.00 all in. Mine is the alpine white model, and of course, it looks unbelievable, but the quality of the guitar is commensurate with the price. Another reviewer here mentions the switches, and yes, all three toggles on mine are scratchy and pretty unreliable and I will replace them. The guitar is on the heavy side, but weighs about the same as my Gibson Les Paul Standard. All those tuning heads make it quite top heavy though, so it tends to slide down. I was able to get this a bit more under control with a KLIQ AirCell guitar strap which also gives a bit of a shock absorber effect as it is neoprene. Generally speaking, I have found that I prefer the twelve string neck and pick ups to the six string. The intonation on the twelve string is much better than I expected and it actually stays in tune quite nicely. I own an older Epiphone G400 SG that I find plays and sounds MUCH better than the six string neck on the G1275. I have found the six string pick ups to sound dead, but I lent it to a buddy for a couple of weeks and he thinks I am nuts, so you'll need to decide for yourself. I am certainly not an exceptional guitar player and don't do any gigging, but have been collecting for 35 years or so and own a dozen guitars ranging from a hundred bucks all the way up to about four grand, and despite the shortcomings of this guitar, I still love it and would never sell it. I'll just add upgrades as I see fit and can afford.

Owned a b stock version earlier this year, found it to be very enjoyable and easy to work with Pros Stairway!! Great 12 string sound Good pickups Cons Pain in the A@& to re string Neck dive( what do you expect and easily solved with a good leather strap) Kind of heavy but no worse than an lp Overall I’m sorry I sold it and I’m seriously considering another one!

This guitar is well build and plays very nicely. The pickups sound rich, and are not too muffled for humbuckers. The biggest flaw I found was the switches. All three of them were unreliable and crackly. Certainly not suitable for live shows, and annoying for recording. I replaced them all with a higher quality Les Paul style of switch (Switchcraft brand, I think), which required a very small amount of wood removal. The result was such a huge improvement I was very, very pleased. These other switches also look much nicer than the originals. I would recommend this swap/upgrade for anyone who is seriously wanting to play this guitar, especially live.

As a kid, I always thought these were dreamy but hard to play, but when I grew up and played it in the store, I quickly realized that it is smooth and sounds GREAT. In my opinion, it has the perfect space between tiers and the overall quality of the sound is outstanding. I recommend digging into your wallet to buy this, because I certainly will!

Great guitar, steal of a deal at current price vs Gibson double neck. Plays great, set up out of box was fine - guitar even in tune BNIB. pickups sound good too. For reviewer above: these guitars only started shipping out to stores globally in early June as far as I know (even though announced earlier in year), no one had in stock anywhere before then (Canada, England, etc) so if you are reviewing July '14 then don't blame Yorkville for a 4mo delay, your guitar was getting built and shipped from Korea in that time! L+M only got them into their system mid June.

I seem to find a lot of haters with this guitar, everyone who doesn't own one seems to think its a terrible idea & just a novelty. I totally agree IF you only own one maybe 2 guitars, but as someone with upwards to 10 guitars I couldn't be happier. People also say this guitar is heavy & it is, lets be real people what did you expect? but I think unless your a frail, thin person who doesn't do any physical activity Its really not a big deal at all, when your sitting it is actually very comfortable(to me anyways). Don't let people who don't own these guitars tell you they are just novelty or a stupid Idea, If you look at owner reviews they are usually very highly rated. The only issues I had was getting it shipped in, Yorkville shouldn't let customers wait 3-4 months for a guitar just sitting in a warehouse, especially with a music industry where guitar buying isn't the thing it used to be, but I could be totally misunderstanding it though
