The 8.1mm maple/walnut/maple hybrid shell delivers the broadest possible dynamic range by using the walnut to act as a low-end buffer between warm interior and exterior maple plies. The sharp 45 degree edge cut to the far outside of the shell increases sensitivity around the drumhead perimeter for exceptional sizzle and a lightning-quick response. The 14" x 5.5" size further enhances the dynamic range by fully engaging the snare wires at all volume levels, even when using brushes.
