I would recommend trying out this sax if you are an intermediate player, who may find [other] intermediate saxophones to be expensive. Pros: There are a lot of extra features for a student model and the saxophone has amazing sound quality for its price. Many of the key transitions require little to no effort. Little resistance when playing altissimo notes and lower notes; with clarity. Cons: There are a few difficulties with a couple of key transitions due to design of instrument. (1. Lower C-E flat keys 2. Lower B flat-C sharp keys) Minor difficulties when playing between lower B-B flat. A very tight instrument-be careful when assembling and disaasembling!

I would recommend that beginners purchase a yamaha, as this model has some issues... my music teacher didn't make it completely clear quite what was wrong, but when she looked it over, she did say that due to my ability to pick up when something is wrong, I would certainly be displeased quite soon whilst playing. I was, with the quality of the horn's ability to play lower keys. Maybe it was just me, but I found this model to be, well... cheap.
