This is my first ever Les Paul, and it's sure leaving a forever lasting awesome impression on me. I get inspired every time I open the case and see it. I got this recently on sale, brand new and still inside of the box. With its bells and whistles and other features, including a beautiful flame maple top, it was an offer that I couldn't refuse. Thanks to the people at the Markham L&M store, especially Gaetano, for helping me find this beauty. It had to be sourced from all the way to Edmonton.

The consensus for Gibson is that they've returned to the quality control of old - a set of procedures that for many years guaranteed superior craftsmanship and products. I picked up this limited run guitar this past Tuesday thanks to extraordinary efforts by Nash at the Scarborough store to secure one for me with supplies of this particular finish dwindling fast. Right out of the box this guitar was perfectly set up and in tune. And I mean perfect. Here I am 2 days later and its still perfect and in tune without any adjustments whatsoever. For the haters: if you don't like dip switches or push/pull pots, don't use them. This is a modern weight-relieved Les Paul Standard. Want the full-weight version? Grab the traditional. But if you do that, you won't know what you're missing. This guitar is shockingly beautiful with an absolutely mesmerizing flame. Almost AAAA I would say. Stunning. When I plugged this in and dialed into my amp, pure magic. That magic that makes people nod approvingly and say "I need a Les Paul Standard". That. Pure magic. The versatility that the dip switches and push/pulls provide is astonishing and very well implemented. It's nice to see Gibson get back to the basics in terms of quality while still offering up modern appointments. Also nice to see these "limited run" finishes adding to the mystique. The 2019 heritage cherry sunburst is discontinued at Gibson, so whatever stock is out there now is it. I demo'd a blueberry burst, also a gorgeous flame - almost changed my mind.
