NEUTRON

Online

Paraphonic Analog and Semi-Modular Synthesizer with Dual 3340 VCOs, Multi-Mode VCF, 2 ADSRs, BBD Delay and Overdrive Circuit in a Eurorack Format.

The BEHRINGER NEUTRON lets you conjure up virtually any monophonic sound imaginable with incredible finesse and ease. The pure analog signal path is based on authentic VCO, VCF, VCA and state variable filter designs in conjunction with a flexible, multi-wave LFO and classic Bucket Brigade Delay (BBD). NEUTRON's Paraphonic mode allows both 3340 analog oscillators to be independently controlled for an expanded palette of tonal options. And when it comes to protection and convenience, the NEUTRON can be mounted in a standard Eurorack, making it ideal for the studio and/or the road. Owning a NEUTRON is like having your own personal time machine, enabling you to freely embrace the past or shape the future!

I got mine for $399, then it went to $472 and now its at $549. Great synth but its not getting BETTER. Why the massive increase over time like this. Model D too - Same exact situation.

Purchased from my local store about a month ago and have been glued to this thing since. Tons of tactile fun. If you're comfortable with subtractive synthesis and understand how signal paths work, the patch bay opens a ton of possibilities for advanced sound design. If you don't...it's a great piece to teach yourself on. The build quality feels solid. You can get sound of it right out of the box, but you'll want to pair it up with some type of Midi device with keys or a sequencer to actually play it. Or the fact that it's semi-modular, you can patch it into your Eurorack system or devices with controlled voltage. Can't say enough great things about it! Might get a second one and polychain them.

Reminds me of a cross between an ARP 2600, early Rolands, with a dash of Moog. Easy to use, great oscillator and filter sections. The Mod Depth for the LFO is a bit touchy (too much too fast), but can be easily remedied by patching in the slew function (thank you Alex Anthron). From drones, to beats, to solos, this synth delivers rich sounds. While it sounds great without patching, the patching capabilities will give any advanced player much satisfaction. For the price, this is hard to beat. I'd like two of these, more fun than a 2600. Thank you Edmonton Downtown for renting me this synth.

I heard two demos of this new synth from Behringer. Just like their Model D, they have created another winner. I was hearing sounds that reminded me of something between my old ARP 2600 and Korg MS-20. With 32 knobs and a well laid out patch bay, you get a lot of synth for your money. From my decades of playing a variety of analog synths, I could do more with two neutrons than I could ever do with one ARP 2600, and for considerably less. This Neutron is on my to buy list.
